Position Summary:
This position may be on HTL or VTL CNC lathe machine with +/- .003 tolerance requirements. Must know how to work with aerospace alloys.
This position may support 2nd shift (12:15pm - 8:45pm, M - F) or 3rd shift (8:15pm - 4:45am, Sun - Thu) operations, or a split shift depending on business needs. The selected individual may train on 1st shift (4:15am - 12:45pm, M - F) until able to demonstrate an ability to perform the job with minimal intervention. Shift premiums will apply upon schedule change if applicable.
Experienced machinists can, with little or no assistance, operate multiple 2-5 axis CNC lathe machines simultaneously, which requires machine setup including preparing and setting up fixtures and cutting tools, loading and adjusting CNC programs and offsets, performing inspections and basic preventative machine maintenance such as coolant and lube levels and area cleanliness. Competencies include the ability to use more advanced quality inspection tools and techniques. Must be able to demonstrate intermediate print reading and have experience with common CNC G and M codes, with a basic understanding of GD&T (geometric dimensioning & tolerance).
Experience & Education:
- High school diploma or equivalent is required.
- 2 - 4 years of machinist experience is required for Level 2.
- 4 - 6 years of machinist experience is required for Level 3.
- Experience in aerospace manufacturing, automotive, or mechanics preferred.
